A couple from Uttar Pradesh who went to Goa for celebrating Valentine's Day died by drowning in Palolem Beach on Tuesday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Supriya Dubey (26) and Vibhu Sharma (27). While Supriya used to work in Bangalore, Vibhu was based in Delhi, according to a report by India Today.
As soon as the police found the information, lifeguards were sent to retrieve the bodies.
They were then sent to Konkan Social Health Centre where they were declared brought dead. Police have sent the bodies for autopsy.
According to the police, Supriya and Vibhu were relatives and their families were not aware that they were in Goa.
Further investigation is underway.
