Vicky Kaushal is currently basking in the success of Meghna Gulzar-directorial 'Sam Bahadur'. He will be next seen in Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Dunki'. On 'Koffee With Karan 8', Vicky opened up about his working experience with Shah Rukh Khan.

'Dunki' is the first film that brings Shah Rukh and Vicky together. He plays SRK's on-screen friend. Vicky is happy that he got the opportunity to work with the 'Pathaan' star.

Sharing his experience, he said, “Shah Rukh sir told me that Dunki is my best work till date. It was incredible to just meet him and then to share screen with him and work with him. There was so much to learn from him. I knew that there was a lot to learn from him as an actor but what hit me was I actually got to know why he is where he is and why he is the Badshah. He was on set as if it was his first film. I got to work with him for a few days as I had a special appearance but that role, that experience and being directed by Raju sir was magical and surreal for me."

The 'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke' actor also shared an anecdote from the sets of 'Dunki' as he said, “In one of the shoot days, he had to rush to Delhi for a very important work and it couldn’t have happened at another time and another date. It was a very critical moment for my character in the film and it was with him. He just couldn’t be there for that shot and I had to give that shot with a body double. He got done with his work in Delhi and then he called me late in the night which I missed because there was an event."

Vicky continued, “He then sent me a long message saying, ‘Vicky, who shot hum dobaara karenge. I’m really sorry that I couldn’t be there to give the cues.’ I had to call him and convince him that it went okay and Raju sir is happy with the shot. I was also nervous if I could pull off that shot again. But he insisted we do it because he was feeling terrible about not being able to give his shoulder in the shot. The next day he came on set and saw those shots and only after he was happy with them did he decide that we don’t need to reshoot them."

Vicky also revealed that when he meets Shah Rukh Khan, he realises that he is doing very little at this age. ''He just gives his hundred percent. If he’s talking to you, hundred percent of his being is talking to you. He’s just something else," added the actor.

'Dunki' also starring Taapsee Pannu is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and is releasing in theatres on December 21.
