A rare five-faced shivaling, known as a Panchmukhi Shivaling, was uncovered on Tuesday morning during the excavation of a pond in Sarai Piparia village, located in the Dataganj tehsil, according to reports. The intricately carved marble shivaling was discovered nearly six feet underground as a bulldozer carried out digging operations.According to reports, Mahant Parmatma Das Maharaj of the Papad Brahmadev Mandir stated that the shivaling is estimated to be around 300 years old. The shivaling emerged unexpectedly during the excavation, quickly drawing attention and sparking curiosity among locals. Strangely enough, the discovery coincides with Sawan Shivratri, which is set to be observed on July 23, adding that extra layer of significance for many. As is common with such finds in India, the discovery rapidly led to religious fervour, with large crowds from nearby villages flocking to the site. This surge in public interest prompted authorities to deploy police and revenue officials to maintain order and secure the area.
