Anurag Desiworldwide: Rappers Were Doing Their Work, Much Before ‘Gully Boy’ Released

Rapper Anurag Desiworldwide speaks up about how Ranveer Singh’s ‘Gully Boy’ gave a boost to rappers and made them household names. However, he also agrees that rapping was prevalent much before the movie came out, and therefore, it’s not a new phenomenon.

Known for his tracks Anurag Beast, The Bzt Route, Show Hell So, Ghost Not Hell and so on, Anurag Desiworldwide has come a long way. He has a good fan following and is presently working on his upcoming songs. He talks about the same and gives some insights into his journey.

“I am working on a couple of songs and I am going to make sure that we achieve what we want, things are going on. We can just hope for the best,” he says.

Tauba was his last project which was released in 2022. “It did well and gave us more challenges in terms of competition and what people are expecting from us. There were also challenges related to the song and we will try to overcome the same this year and people are going to love it. 2023 is going to be more rocking, people can expect something new or something genre-bending,” he adds.

Ranveer Singh starrer Gully Boy brought rappers into the limelight in India. It also encouraged many to come out of their shell and reach out to the world.

“Well, rappers were doing their work, much before 'Gully Boy' was released. But yes, the film did give a huge shout-out to rappers and made them a household name. People have more interest in rapping now. The new rappers like me were also motivated and it actually boosted our confidence. Rapping has a great future. In the coming times, there will be more experiments in the music industry as well as in rapping. Get ready for this interesting work in terms of music variation, lyrics and tunes,” he says.

The MTV Hustle franchise is a show for rappers. Ask if he would like to be a part of it and Anurag adds, “Yes, why not? If there is something like this that showcases the talent and the music, I would love to.”
