The sixth in the Potter series has all it takes—breathless action, superb cinematography, eye-popping special effects—to be an awesome visual spectacle. But the hallmarks are two contrasting ideas—that of an overwhelming sense of doom, and of love and longing of the young. While Voldemort grows more menacing, hormones do strange things to Harry and Co. Harry flirts with a waitress and then gets cosy with Ginny Weasley in the Room of Requirement. The narrative gets long-winded, verbose and plodding.
