The Bar Consultants is a passion-driven venture co-founded by Angad Chachra and Nitya Sareen, dedicated to shaping the future of food and beverage experiences. Headquartered in New Delhi, the firm blends strategic insight with creative innovation to help hospitality brands thrive and scale sustainably. The conversation underscores TBC’s core strength—crafting holistic, storytelling-led F&B concepts that are both distinctive and commercially viable. Angad’s vision is anchored in creativity, passion, progress, and disciplined execution; all aimed at helping brands grow with purpose and longevity.
1. What inspired the inception of The Bar Consultants, and how has the journey evolved since its inception?
When I started The Bar Consultants, I knew I didn’t want to follow the same old formulas that defined hospitality. I wanted to break boundaries to craft experiences that felt alive, personal, and truly unique. Our journey has been one of constant evolution full of learning, growth, and lessons from every misstep. What began as a one-man vision is now a 20-member team of passionate professionals, each adding their own creativity and expertise.
Perfection was never the goal progress was. And as we continue to push boundaries and reimagine hospitality, I believe our journey has only just begun.
2. TBC has worked on over 400 projects across India and overseas what do you believe sets The Bar Consultants apart in such a competitive landscape?
At the Bar Consultants, we don’t just create menus we build complete F&B identities. From restaurants and rooftops to hotels and cafés, we ensure the bar and kitchen speak the same language, crafting experiences were mixology and cuisine blend seamlessly.
From modern cocktails to curated dishes, we focus on storytelling through flavors. We reimagine classics with local ingredients and fresh, approachable techniques. Beyond creativity, we ensure seamless execution with quality sourcing, cost optimization, efficient systems, low-waste practices, and lasting staff training.
At the end of the day, we don’t just design restaurants we build experiences that are creative, profitable, and built to last.
3. What is the process for conceptualizing a space from idea to execution that drives business success?
Our process is strategic and grounded in market understanding. We begin with research-driven concept creation, followed by end-to-end development—from bar and kitchen planning to interiors, procurement, and operations. With a strong focus on people, process, and profitability, we build SOPs, training systems, and financial frameworks covering CAPEX, OPEX, and working capital. Even after launch, we remain involved to ensure seamless operations and long-term success.
4. How important is storytelling in hospitality design today, and how do you bring that to life through interiors and menus?
Storytelling is at the heart of modern hospitality it’s what transforms a restaurant from a space into an experience. It builds an emotional connection between the brand and the guest, giving purpose to every element from design and lighting to music and menu.
For us, storytelling starts at the concept stage. We translate a brand’s vision into cohesive details interiors that reflect its mood, menus that echo its philosophy, and service that ties it all together. Whether rooted in local culture or global flair, every element works in harmony to tell one compelling story.
5. How does TBC enable F&B brands and hospitality leaders to scale sustainably through strategic business planning?
For me, sustainability in hospitality is about longevity, purpose, and people. At TBC, we help clients define their “why” building strategies grounded in intention, not just expansion. We strike the balance between creativity and commercial sense, crafting concepts that are exciting yet operationally sound.
True success comes from consistency, adaptability, and understanding both the market and the team behind it. Our role goes beyond planning we become partners in shaping the vision, ensuring every brand grows not fast, but right.
6. What role does financial advisory play in shaping and expanding F&B ventures, and how does TBC integrate this into its overall execution strategy?
Financial advisory is central to every TBC project. We establish a clear financial framework from day one, defining CAPEX, working capital, and operational costs to ensure efficiency and sustainability. Every expense, from interiors and equipment to staffing and raw materials, is detailed and aligned with real market conditions.
We guide clients through smart budgeting, sustainable cash flow planning, and recommend a 10 to 15 percent buffer for contingencies. Our goal is simple: to build transparent, practical, and future-ready financial models that set every project up for success.
7. How do you see the Indian F&B industry evolving in the next few years?
The Indian F&B industry is at a defining moment. Diners today seek more than good food; they crave connection, culture, and meaning. What’s exciting is how India is finding its own voice, with chefs and restaurateurs celebrating local ingredients, regional recipes, and forgotten traditions through a modern lens. This blend of authenticity and innovation will shape the industry’s next chapter.
For me, it feels like a movement where creativity is rooted in identity. Having seen this industry evolve from the ground up, it’s inspiring to witness India owning its narrative and showing the world that our dining culture is defined by warmth, diversity, and heart.
8. How do you help brands entering Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets ensure smart investments and faster ROI?
When we work with brands entering Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, our focus is on sustainable growth, not quick returns. Hospitality takes time and patience to flourish. These markets are evolving fast their audiences are well-travelled, aware, and eager for experiences that feel both global and locally rooted.
Our role is to bridge creativity with strategy blending storytelling with sound financial planning. Each project is aspirational yet practical, built on clear budgets and realistic timelines. We aim to create lasting value where creativity meets discipline and passion turns into sustainable success.
