Lee Sung-kyung, known for her role as Cha Eun-jae in the popular series 'Dr. Romantic', caught the attention of audiences yet again with her stellar performance. Channelling her character's essence, the actress has now made a sizeable donation to a hospital.
On January 10, YG Entertainment announced that the actress has donated ₩100 million (approximately Rs 63 lakh) to Dankook University Hospital in December 2023. Her donation was inspired by her portrayal of Cha Eun-jae in the award-winning drama 'Dr. Romantic 3.' Playing the role of a trauma-specialized thoracic surgeon at Doldam Hospital Regional Trauma Center, her performance left everyone talking and in awe of her acting.

Elaborating on why she did this good deed, she expressed, "Through my involvement in a medical drama, I developed an interest in trauma care, an essential aspect of medical services. I wanted to indirectly experience the reality of trauma care in Korea and contribute in a small way to the advancement of the medical field, particularly in saving trauma patients."
Lee Sung-kyung's donation will be used to improve and expand the medical facilities at Dankook University Hospital's regional trauma center. This facility is where emergency surgeries are conducted and special care is given to severe trauma patients in the region of South Chungcheong.

Apart from this, the 'Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo' actress has donated to many charities and contributed to relief programs that dealt with COVID, floods, forest fires, as well as taken part in initiatives to support single mothers, low-income families, underprivileged children, and children with cancer. Furthermore, she has also donated the earnings from her music towards social causes.
