The tourism department of Karnataka is working on developing Kappatagudda into a popular tourist destination. To accommodate visitors, jungle hotels will be established in the forested areas. The authorities are leading the initiative to transform Kappatagudda into a prominent destination similar to Bandipur, Nagarahole, or Dandeli. The project aims to have jungle hotels ready by June 2024, with two-bedroom accommodations in the Mahalingpur area and trekking facilities in the forest interiors. Paid parking will fund security and civic amenities, and there are plans for a viewing point and year-round jungle safaris. As part of the development plans, a wildlife photography gallery is also proposed, with optimism for financial support to implement the project.
