Heavyweight MMA standouts “Mighty Warrior” Kang Ji Won and Ryugo Takeuchi are set to throw down in a fight that’s unlikely to see the judges’ scorecards.

The pair will throw down in U.S. primetime on August 1 at ONE Fight Night 34: Eersel vs. Jarvis on Prime Video, live from the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Given each athlete’s propensity for brawling and ruthless finishing instincts, fans should buckle up for an all-out war when these titans enter the ring.

A veteran of seven battles in ONE, South Korea’s Kang is still looking for consistency on the global stage.

While he’s stumbled against elite opposition like Kirill Grishenko and Ben Tynan, he’s also scored four highlight-reel stoppages in ONE to cement himself among the sport’s most terrifying punchers with a 100 knockout rate in his seven professional victories.

“Mighty Warrior” will come into this bout following a hard-fought decision loss to former ONE World Title challenger Grishenko at ONE Fight Night 23. Despite that loss, he showcased the gas tank, fight IQ, and well-rounded skills needed to compete for a full three rounds, if needed.

On August 1, he’ll meet an equally dangerous finisher in Takeuchi.

The 22-year-old Japanese powerhouse brought an unbeaten professional record, a 100 percent finishing rate, and high expectations into his late-notice ONE debut in April at ONE Fight Night 30. Despite the hype, Takeuchi suffered a third-round TKO loss to respected British veteran Paul Elliott.

With his youth, massive size, and proven knockout power, Takeuchi remains one of the division’s most promising talents – and his clash with Kang will serve as a fitting test for his development.
