Ace fashion designer Rohit Bal's condition is critical and currently on ventilator support, as per reports. As per a report in HT, he has been admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon, near Delhi, for the last four days.
As per the report, he has a pre-existing cardiac condition.
Bal, 62 was rushed to the hospital by model Suraj Dhalia. A close friend told HT, "His heart was sinking and he was unconscious. His pacemaker gave seven shocks. He was initially taken to Moolchand and when his condition deteriorated, he was rushed to Medanta''.
Another close friend told the same portal, "Gudda is a fighter but his illness has taken a serious toll on him. He became extremely weak over the last few months. We are praying for him''.
For the unversed, Rohit survived a massive heart attack in 2010. He also underwent an emergency angioplasty. He has also been suffering from pancreatitis which has worsened over the years. Due to his serious health complications in the last few months, Bal has been going to the hospital often. In November 2022, he was admitted to Medanta Hospital in critical condition, as per reports.
Also, the designer has reportedly been in and out of rehab and hospitals for alcohol abuse.
Around 6-7 months back, a close friend of Rohit Bal told HT City in an interview, "Gudda is in very bad shape. He was almost dead in November. The doctors had to flush out alcohol and sleeping pills from his system when his friends took him to the hospital.''
On the work front, he recently launched a menswear collection, called 'Balance' for autumn-winter 2023.
