Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Seeks Extension Of Interim Bail, Moves Supreme Court

With his interim bail ending on June 1, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party leader has sought an extension. Moving the Supreme Court, the Delhi CM is seeking an extension on his bail by seven days.

With his interim bail ending on June 1, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party leader has sought an extension. Moving the Supreme Court, the Delhi CM is seeking an extension on his bail by seven days.

As per reports, the Delhi CM has sought for an extension on the health grounds. The Aam Aadmi Party has stated that Kejriwal was due to undergo a PET-CT scan and other tests following weight loss of 7 kg and elevated ketone levels.

Due to this, the party has revealed that a plea to extend his bail by seven days has been filed.

Kejriwal, who was arrested for his alleged involvement in the Delhi Liquor Policy Scam case, was granted bail on May 10 by the top court for election campaigning.

The Delhi CM was granted interim bail till June 1 and was told by the Supreme Court to surrender to the authorities on June 2, a day after voting across India concludes.

During his bail, the AAP chief was seen campaigning across Delhi and was also able to cast his vote in the national capital during the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Delhi Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Delhi Sees 57.67% Voter Turnout

During the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, the national capital head out to vote. As per the data released by the Election Commission of India, the NCT of Delhi saw an overall turnout of 57.67% across all seven parliamentary constituencies. (as of 11:45 PM on May 25).

During the Delhi polls, the Kejriwal family, Gandhi-Vadra family, union ministers and many other leaders cast their vote as the Lok Sabha elections near the end.

The final phase will be held on June 1, 2024 and the counting of the results will be held on June 4.
