Ahead of the Gujarat Assembly elections and the MCD polls, Aam Admi Party (AAP) today got into further trouble as the conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail accused the jailed AAP Minister Satyendar Jain of extorting protection money from him.

In a letter to the Delhi L-G V K Saxena, Sukesh said that he has paid Rs. 10 crores to Jain as the 'protection money' in the jail.

The conman who has been in Tihar jail since 2017 for duping several people added that he has already paid Rs. 50 crores to AAP and was promised an important position in South India. Notably, Sukesh was earlier close to Sasikala faction of AIADMK in Tamil Nadu.

In his complaint against Satyendar Jain and the DG prison Sandeep Goel, he said that he knows Jain since 2015.

“After my arrest in 2017, I was lodged in Tihar Jail and was visited multiple times by Mr Satyendar Jain, who held the portfolio of jail minister... In 2019 again, I was visited by Jain, whose secretary asked me to pay Rs 2 crore every month as protection money and to get basic facilities inside the jail,” the letter added.

He alleged that Jain, the former Jail Minister visited him several times in the prison after 2017 and asked him whether he had revealed anything about his donation to AAP. Then, in 2019 he allegedly was visited by Jain and his close aide Mr. Sushil who asked him to pay Rs. 2 crores a month for the basic facilities within the prison.

Taking a dig at DG Prison Sandeep Goel, the complaint letter said that he had paid Rs. 12.50 crores to him besides paying 10 crores to his boss Jain.

Sukesh has already informed the ED team regarding the extortion racket run by Goel and appealed to the Delhi High Court seeking CBI enquiry. The case will be heard next month.

He also added that last month he disclosed the matter to CBI as well. However, no action has been taken yet.

Conman’s most important statement nevertheless comes towards the end of the letter. Almost echoing BJP’s allegation he notes, “AAP and their so called honest government have to be exposed and shown that even in jail they are involved in high level corruption”.

As per the reports of India Today, the letter has already been forwarded by L-G to the Chief Secretary for further actions.

The infamous conman Sukesh is known for cheating several important persons including former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh's wife, Aditi Singh and Malvinder's wife Japna Singh, worth over several crores of rupees.

This allegation against AAP comes in the backdrop of continous corruption accusations from the BJP against Kejriwal government over liquor scam. Recently, AAP had boosted its Delhi municipality campaigns focusing on the garbage-hills that cover different parts of the city.

BJP has been ruling three MCDs for more than a decade.
