The Archery Association of India (AAI) has banned coach Sunil Kumar for life for hugging a female member of Britain’s team during the Youth World Archery Championships held in Argentina from October 2-8.

According to a Firstpost report, Compound team coach Sunil Kumar was sent back home from the championship after a British Archer complained against him for inappropriate behavior.

Virendra Sachdeva, an official of the AAI, told Hindustan Times that Sunil had hugged a female member of the Great Britain team in Rosario. The issue didn’t go down well with the world governing body and England team officials. “An inquiry has also been initiated to probe the incident further,” Sachdeva added.

“Kumar was asked to leave the team hotel and was put on the first plane available back to New Delhi,” Firstpost quoted an official as saying.
