Murali Sreeshankar had raised India’s hopes of winning a World Athletics Championships medal after becoming the first from the country to qualify for the finals. His best effort was 7.96m.
B Aishwarya's effort is second only to World Championships bronze winner Anju Bobby George's national record of 6.83m.
Parul leapfrogged her Chinese counterpart Xu Shuangshuang and finished the event in 9 minutes 38.76 seconds.
