  • From Last To First: Golden Tempo Wins Kentucky Derby 2026 In Sensational Fashion

    Golden Tempo and jockey Jose Ortiz etched their names into the horse racing history books after winning the Kentucky Derby 2026 at Churchill Downs on Friday (May 2) in a sensational fashion. The three-year-old American thoroughbred was last in a field of 18 horses for much of the race, covering at least 10 furlongs for "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports", but when the time the event ended, it won by a neck, with a time of 2:02.27. The win also helped Cherie DeVaux become the first woman to win the event as a trainer. The latest iteration marked the 152nd running, continuing its legacy as America's longest continuously held sporting event. Also known as the "Run for the Roses" and serving as the first leg of the Triple Crown of thoroughbred racing, it is held each year on the first Saturday in May in Louisville.   • Wolves 1-1 Sunderland, English Premier League 2025-26: Bueno Header Rescues Point Against 10-Man Black Cats

    Wolverhampton Wanderers fought back to hold Sunderland to a 1-1 draw in the English Premier League 2025-26 at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday. Sunderland struck first in the 17th minute, when Nordi Mukiele rose highest to head home from a corner. However, the Black Cats saw Daniel Ballard sent off in the 24th minute following a VAR review for violent conduct after he pulled Tolu Arokodare's hair. Wolves pressed forward to capitalise on their numerical advantage, and Santiago Bueno headed home Hugo Bueno's cross in the 54th minute to level the scores. The hosts continued to create more chances, but failed to find a winner.

  • Newcastle 3-1 Brighton, English Premier League 2025-26: Magpies Survive Scare To End Losing Run

    Newcastle United sealed a 3-1 win over Brighton in front of a packed St. James' Park crowd on Saturday, ending their four-game losing streak in the English Premier League 2025-26. The hosts started brightly, taking the lead in the 12th minute when William Osula found the back of the net. Just over ten minutes later, Dan Burn doubled the advantage with a header in the 24th minute, putting the Magpies in control. Brighton, however, pulled one back after the hour mark when Jack Hinshelwood struck from close range. Newcastle held firm against the onslaught, and Harvey Barnes sealed the win with a superb finish in the 96th minute.

  • Brentford 3-0 West Ham, English Premier League 2025-26: Bees End Drought With Dominant Home Win

    Brentford ended their six-game winless run in the English Premier League 2025-26 with a dominant 3-0 win over West Ham United at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday. The breakthrough came in the 15th minute, when Konstantinos Mavropanos inadvertently turned the ball into his own net after Michael Kayode's effort struck the post and ricocheted off him. Mavropanos found the back of the net at the other end six minutes later, but but the goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR check. Brentford doubled their lead in the 54th minute, as Igor Thiago converted from the penalty spot after El Hadji Malick Diouf fouled Dango Ouattara. Mikkel Damsgaard added a third in the 82nd minute to seal the victory.

  • OL Lyonnes 3-1 Arsenal, UWCL: Holders Knocked Out After Jule Brand's Late Winner

    Forward Jule Brand scored the decisive goal in the 86th minute as OL Lyonnes beat titleholder Arsenal 3-1 to reach the Women’s Champions League final on Saturday. Goals from captain Wendie Renard and striker Kadidiatou Diani put Lyon 2-0 up at halftime, but Alessia Russo’s competition-leading ninth goal looked to have sent the game into extra time. But Brand latched onto Melchie Dumornay’s pass to make it 4-3 on aggregate for record eight-time champion Lyon, which lost the first leg 2-1.

  • Bangladesh Vs New Zealand, 3rd T20I: Jacobs' Maiden Fifty Steers BlackCaps To Series-Levelling Win

    Bevon Jacobs hit his maiden half-century as New Zealand recovered from a shaky start to beat Bangladesh by six wickets in the rain-hit third T20 on Saturday, concluding the three-match series at 1-1. Jacobs’ 31-ball 62 not out, including five fours and three sixes, helped his side reach 104-4 in 11.4 overs, chasing down Bangladesh’s 102 all out in 14.2 overs. Bangladesh had won the first match by six wickets. The second match was rained out. On Saturday, pacer Shoriful Islam gave Bangladesh a glimmer of hope by claiming three wickets for just four runs in his first two overs as New Zealand was at struggling 25-3 in fourth over. Offspinner Mahedi Hasan further put the visitors in trouble when he dismissed stand-in skipper Nick Kelly, leaving New Zealand 33-4.

  • Remembering Alex Zanardi: Italy's Auto-Racing Champion, Who Won Paralympic Gold, Passes Away At 59

    Alex Zanardi, the Italian auto racing champion-turned-Paralympic gold medalist whose career was marked by two life-altering accidents, has died. He was 59. Zanardi’s family announced his death on Saturday, saying that he passed away on Friday night. In 2020, Zanardi was seriously injured in a hand bike accident after crashing into an oncoming truck during a relay event in Tuscany. Zanardi suffered serious facial and cranial trauma in the crash and was put in a medically induced coma. Nearly 20 years earlier, Zanardi lost both of his legs in an auto racing crash.
