  • India Vs Afghanistan 2nd ODI In Pics: See Best Photos From Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium

India and Afghanistan lock horns in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Afghanistan have won the toss and opted to field first as they look to bounce back after suffering a seven-wicket defeat in the rain-shortened opening game in Dharamsala. India, meanwhile, will aim to continue their winning momentum and take an unassailable lead in the series. With better weather conditions expected, both sides will be eager to get a full 50-over game under their belt as they build towards the 2027 ODI World Cup, with Afghanistan hoping their spin duo of Rashid Khan and AM Ghazanfar can trouble the hosts.

  • Playing Is The Victory: In Defeat, Sudanese Women Find A Rare Triumph

For Sudanese women football players, participation meant far more than the actual score line. Returning to action for the first time since a devastating civil war erupted in April 2023, the team traveled to Morocco to compete at the 2028 CAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament for the Los Angeles Games. Because of the civil war, the country's domestic sports set-up has completely collapsed, and the authorities failed to assemble a senior team. Instead, they sent an inexperienced Under-17 side. Having trained for only a few weeks, the young team suffered crushing 17-0 and 13-0 defeats against Comoros, conceding 30 goals across two legs of the first round. Beyond the battlefield, they faced deeply rooted societal taboos and cultural opposition from religious conservatives who historically banned women's sports under Omar al-Bashir's three-decade rule, marked by Public Order Laws that rights groups said restricted women's freedoms.

  • The Chivalrous Ones Fall In World Cup Debut, But Win The Hearts Of A Nation

Jordanians celebrated the national team's FIFA World Cup debut in a tough Group J opener against Austria on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Despite suffering a heartbreaking 1-3 loss to a clinical Austrian side, the atmosphere remained optimistic and deeply defiant. Thousands of travelling fans at the match venue in faraway America and millions more watching across Jordan turned the historic sporting event into a massive national celebration. Streets in Amman and beyond were filled with waving flags and chants while public squares were packed with supporters watching the match together, rooting for the Chivalrous Ones -- as the team is known colloquially. Scoring their first-ever World Cup goal (by Ali Olwan) sparked joy, overshadowing the final scoreline. Placed in a challenging group alongside defending champions Argentina and Algeria, fans focused entirely on the milestone of reaching the global stage rather than winning. Up next, they face Algeria, and there's no dearth of hope.

  • Bangladesh Vs Australia, 3rd ODI: Connolly Drives AUS To Consolation Win, BAN Clinch Series 2-1

In the third ODI on June 14, Sunday, at Dhaka’s Sher-E-Bangla Stadium, Australia secured a dramatic one-wicket victory to avoid a series sweep, finishing the series 2-1 in Bangladesh's favor.  Bangladesh posted a competitive 274/5, anchored by Towhid Hridoy’s composed 83 and quick-fire fifties from Litton Das and Mosaddek Hossain. In reply, Australia’s chase was defined by Cooper Connolly’s maiden ODI century. He scored a magnificent 149 off 134 balls to keep his side in the contest.  The match ended in a thriller after a late-innings collapse saw Australia tumble from 266/5 to 271/9, largely due to a brilliant 6/48 spell by Shoriful Islam. With three balls remaining and two runs needed, Adam Zampa held his nerve to steer the visitors across the line. Despite the loss, Bangladesh celebrated a historic series win, while Connolly’s masterclass provided Australia with a hard-fought consolation victory.

  • India Vs Pakistan, ICC Women's T20 World Cup: IND-W Secure Comprehensive 64-Run Win At Edgbaston

The peerless Deepti Sharma strangulated an out of sync Pakistan with a five-wicket haul after Smriti Mandhana's delectable half-century as India thrashed Pakistan by 64 runs to make a winning start to their Women's T20 World Cup campaign at Birmingham on June 14, Sunday. Courtesy Mandhana's classy 44-ball-68 and Richa Ghosh's muscular 34 off 17 balls, India managed a winning score of 170 for 6. Save Muneeba Ali's 35-ball-41, there was no sting in Pakistan batting as they folded for a meagre 106 in 17 overs. Having played her part in a priceless 45-run stand with Ghosh, Deepti was in her element with the ball, picking up a career-best 5 for 10 in 4 overs while left-arm spinner Shree Charani grabbed 3 for 21. Shafali Verma's happy knack of picking wickets also helped India. En route her five-wicket haul, Deepti also became the highest wicket-taker in the history of Women's T20 Internationals.
