After being put in to bat first, Prasidh Krishna rattled Afghanistan's top order with early wickets and left them reeling at 36/4. Afghan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi stabilized Afghanistan's innings with a valiant ton and took the Afghan Atalans to a respectable 218 runs in the first innings. In reply, Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed a majestic 110 not out off just 86 balls and forged a scintillating 170-run opening stand with veteran Rohit Sharma (79). Both Indian openers made short work of the chase and guided India home in a dominating manner to close the series with a bang.
