  • Chinese Grand Prix 2026: Kimi Antonelli Makes F1 History With Maiden Pole At Chinese Grand Prix

    Kimi Antonelli made Formula 1 history at the Chinese Grand Prix 2026 on Saturday (March 14). The 19-year-old Italian prodigy secured his first F1 career pole with a time of 1:32.064, beating Mercedes teammate George Russell by 0.222 seconds at the Shanghai International Circuit. Born on August 25, 2006, he's now the youngest-ever pole-sitter in the sport's history. Ferrari pair, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, locked the second row, ahead of McLaren's Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. Reigning F1 champion Max Verstappen took 8th, ahead of Isack Hadjar, but the Red Bull duo was outpaced by Pierre Gasly of Alpine. Haas' Pierre Gasly settled for 10th on the grid.

    India dug deep to secure a hard-fought 1-0 win over Italy in the FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup Qualifiers 2026 semi-final at the GMC Balayogi Hockey Stadium, Hyderabad, on Friday, March 13, 2026. The win confirmed a place in the upcoming World Cup for the hosts, as well as sealing a place in the final in front of a passionate home crowd. After a tough first half where Italy dominated for long spells, Manisha Chauhan converted a drag-flick off a penalty corner in the 40th minute to hand India the lead. The Women in Blue dominated the contest from then on, making a number of circle entries and forcing Lucia Ines Caruso into several good saves.   • Willie Mullins-Trained Gaelic Warriors Wins Gold Cup With Eight-Length Lead

    In a performance that solidified his status as a National Hunt legend, Gaelic Warrior romped to victory in the 2026 Cheltenham Gold Cup on March 13, Friday. Ridden by jockey Paul Townend for trainer Willie Mullins, the 11-4 joint-favorite delivered a dominant eight-length win trumping favourites Jango Baie and marking Townend’s record-breaking fifth Gold Cup title. The victory capped a historic day for the Mullins-Townend-Ricci partnership, making owner Rich Ricci the first to win both the Champion Hurdle and the Gold Cup in the same season. In an unfortunate development, legendary horse Envoi Allen died after finishing the race at ninth position.

  • Australia 2-1 North Korea, AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 Quarter-Final: Kerr Shines As Matildas Seal Semis Spot

    Australia booked their place in the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 semi-finals with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over North Korea at the Perth Rectangular Stadium on Friday. The result also booked a place for the Matildas in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 in Brazil. The hosts struck early through defender Alanna Kennedy, teed up by Sam Kerr in the ninth minute. After a tense first half, captain Kerr doubled the lead in the 47th minute. North Korea, three-time Asian Cup champions, pulled one back in the 65th minute through Chae Un-Yong, setting up a nervy final half-hour. However, Australia's defence held firm against the North Korean attack, with goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold making some key saves.
