  • India Vs South Africa 2nd ODI: Markram's Masterclass Powers Proteas To Series-Levelling Win

South Africa levelled the ODI series with a thrilling four-wicket win over India in Raipur during the second match on Wednesday. Asked to chase 359, the visitors rode on Aiden Markram's superb century and crucial half-centuries from Matthew Breetzke and Dewald Brevis to better India's total of 358/5 with four balls to spare. Earlier, Virat Kohli (102) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (105) struck brilliant centuries, while skipper KL Rahul added 66 to power the hosts' innings. Despite wickets from Prasidh Krishna and Arshdeep Singh, South Africa held their nerve to clinch victory. With the series now tied 1-1, the third ODI at Vishakhapatnam will act as the decider.

  • NZ Vs WI 1st Test: Windies Crumble As Kiwis Gain Advantage On Day Two

Shai Hope batted in sunglasses because of an eye infection but saw the ball well enough to compile his first test half century against New Zealand on Wednesday before the West Indies ended the second day of the first test trailing by 96 runs. The West Indies were bowled out for 167 in their first innings, 64 runs behind New Zealand who reached 32 without loss in seven overs before stumps. While it might have been incongruous to see Hope sporting large reflective glasses under his helmet in gloomy conditions, his innings of 56 stabilized the West Indies’ first innings after the loss of two early wickets.

  • Fulham 4-5 Man City, Premier League: Guardiola's Men Play Out Nine-Goal Thriller

Erling Haaland scored his 100th Premier League goal on Tuesday and Manchester City moved to within two points of the top of the standings after surviving a stunning fightback from Fulham. Haaland became the fastest player to reach a century of goals in the league with his 17th-minute opener in City’s 5-4 win at Craven Cottage. But a night of personal glory was nearly wrecked as Fulham came back from 5-1 down and came agonizingly close to an equalizer in added time when Josh King’s effort was cleared off the line.

Romero’s acrobatic effort stunned the home crowd and salvaged a point for Spurs to prevent its losing run being extended to four games.

  • Barcelona 3-1 Atletico Madrid, La Liga: Catalans Win At Cost Of Olmo's Injury

Barcelona increased its Spanish league lead by coming from behind to beat Atletico Madrid 3-1 on Tuesday, with Dani Olmo scoring the go-ahead goal but hurting his shoulder in the process. Olmo injured his left shoulder in a fall after sending a left-footed strike into the net in the 65th minute for Barcelona’s second goal at Camp Nou stadium. Atletico had opened the scoring with Álex Baena, and Raphinha equalized for the hosts in the first half. Olmo was in visible pain after going down and couldn’t celebrate the goal that left Barcelona four points ahead of Real Madrid. The Barcelona playmaker was immediately substituted and had to be assisted off the field by the club’s medical staff.

  • How Self-respect Marriages In Tamil Nadu Are Fostering Dravidian Movement!

‘Self-respect marriages,’ introduced by Dravidian thinker E.V. Ramasamy Periyar, remain a powerful tool of social and political transformation even a century later. Rooted in the Self-Respect Movement of the 1920s, these ceremonies reject priests, Vedic rituals, Sanskrit mantras, caste purity and patriarchal customs, instead placing consent, equality, and dignity at their core. Today, 1,000–1,500 such marriages take place annually at Periyar Thidal—the Chennai complex that houses his resting place, library, research centre, bookshop and the Viduthalai press. At its centre stands Periyar’s unadorned black-stone statue, free from rituals or restrictions, surrounded by stone-engraved quotes and a garden shaded by the mango tree planted by former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai, symbolising the living legacy of the Dravidian movement.

  • NZ Vs WI 1st Test: Windies Dominate With Ball On Day One At Christchurch

For Kane Williamson, it was business as usual. After 12 months away from test cricket as a privateer in professional leagues around the world, Williamson ground out his 38th half century for New Zealand on Tuesday on the first day of the first test against West Indies. It wasn’t classic Williamson: he was rusty and it showed. He played and missed more than usual; many of his early runs came from thick edges and on 33 his stumps were shattered by a no ball. But his dogged nature was evident as he reached 52 from 102 balls after coming to the crease when Devon Conway was out to the third ball of the day. Williamson put on 93 for the second wicket with Tom Latham and helped New Zealand overcome a makeshift but demanding West Indies attack to reach 231-9 by stumps.
