Earlier, skipper Riyan Parag returned to form with a 50-ball 90, his first fifty-plus score of this season, while Donovan Ferreira made a quick-fire 47 not out (14 balls) as RR posted a strong 225/6 after opting to bat. Mitchell Starc picked 3/40, including the wicket of Parag on his comeback.

  • Minnesota Wild 5-2 Dallas Stars, NHL: Quinn Hughes Steers Side To Second Round

    Quinn Hughes led Minnesota to its first playoff series victory in 11 years, scoring twice in the Wild’s 5-2 victory over the Dallas Stars in Game 6 on Thursday night. Minnesota will face Presidents’ Trophy winner Colorado in the second round. The Avalanche has not played since sweeping Los Angeles on Sunday. The Wild won a playoff series for the first time in 10 tries since 2015. They lost to Dallas in the first round in 2016 and 2023. New York’s 51-point win tied for the sixth-largest margin of victory in NBA postseason history.

  • Atlanta Hawks 89-140 NY Knicks, NBA 2026 Playoffs: Karl-Anthony Towns Stars In Thumping Win

    OG Anunoby scored 29 points in 27 minutes, Karl-Anthony Towns had his second triple-double of the series and the New York Knicks had their biggest playoff victory in franchise history, overwhelming and eliminating the Atlanta Hawks 140-89 in Game 6 on Thursday night. The Knicks broke several NBA records by halftime. Their 40-15 lead at the end of the first quarter marked the largest of the shot clock era. Their 47-point halftime lead was the biggest in playoff history. It was New York’s third straight win after falling to 1-2 in the series following back-to-back one-point losses.

    Braga sealed a dramatic 2-1 win over Freiburg in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League 2025-26 semi-final at Estadio Municipal de Braga on Thursday, April 30, 2026.     Nottingham Forest sealed a slender 1-0 win over Aston Villa in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League 2025-26 semi-final at the City Ground on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Both teams played a tight first half, which saw the goalkeepers – Emiliano Martinez and Stefan Ortega – make a couple of good saves to protect the deadlock. The breakthrough came midway in the second half after Lucas Digne handled the ball in the box. The resulting penalty was dispatched past Martinez by Chris Wood to put the Tricky Trees ahead. Villa pushed hard for an equaliser, with Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers testing Ortega, but Forest's defence held firm to seal the first-leg win.

    The Houston Rockets beat the Los Angeles Lakers 99-93 in Game 5 on Wednesday to keep themselves in the playoff race. This was their second consecutive win, but the Lakers still lead the series by 3-2. Jabari Smith Jr. played a significant role in Houston's win with 22 points, while Tari Eason scored 18. Alperen Sengun also came in handy with 14 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. It was a special win for Houston as it came without their ace player, Kevin Durant, who has missed most of the series due to injury. The win means the series will now go back to Houston for Game 6 on Friday.
