  • NBA: LeBron James Gets Winning Assist As Los Angeles Lakers Edge Toronto Raptors 123-120

For LeBron James, the win mattered more than the streak. James’ NBA-record run of 1,297 consecutive regular-season games with at least 10 points ended Friday (December 5, 2025) at Toronto, and he was the one who made the decision to have it end. Instead of trying to score to win the game — and extend his streak — he set up Rui Hachimura for the final shot. Hachimura connected on a 3-pointer at the buzzer, James got the game-winning assist, and the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Raptors 123-120. James finished with eight points and had no regrets.

  • Australia Vs England, 2nd Ashes Test: Root's First Ton In Oz Offsets Starc's Six-Fer On Day 1

Joe Root struck a long-awaited first century in Australia to give England the honours on Day 1 of the second Ashes Test despite Mitchell Starc’s six wickets. Starc removed Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope to have England reeling at 5 for 2 in the third over in Brisbane on Thursday (December 4). That’s when Root went to the crease and set about restoring the England innings, and confidence, following the series-opening eight-wicket loss in Perth. His unbeaten 135 led England to 325 for 9 at stumps, with No. 11 Jofra Archer at a career-best 32 in an unbroken 61-run last-wicket stand.

  • Coppa Italia: Mattia Zaccagni’s Late Goal Helps Lazio Eliminate AC Milan From Round Of 16 At Home

Lazio secured a sweet measure of revenge against AC Milan, winning their Coppa Italia Round of 16 tie 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico. This result came just days after Milan had defeated them by the same scoreline in the league. The match was a tense, cagey affair with few clear chances for either side. However, the deadlock was broken in the 80th minute when Mattia Zaccagni rose to meet a corner kick, brilliantly heading the ball past the Milan goalkeeper. The late goal was enough to secure the win and knock the Rossoneri out of the cup competition, propelling Maurizio Sarri's side into the quarter-finals. Watch the best picture from the game.

  • English Premier League: Late Leveler Frustrates Manchester United in 1-1 Draw Against West Ham At Old Trafford

Manchester United endured a frustrating 1-1 draw against West Ham United at Old Trafford. After a goalless first half, United finally broke the deadlock in the 58th minute when Diogo Dalot tucked home a loose ball following a Casemiro shot. The home side seemed set for three points until the 83rd minute, when West Ham's Soungoutou Magassa capitalised on a rebounded corner kick to snatch a late equaliser. The result, described as "angry and frustrated" by manager Ruben Amorim, meant United missed the chance to climb higher in the Premier League table. It highlights a recurring issue for United in failing to close out games at home. Watch the best picture from the game
