Wimbledon favourite Carlos Alcaraz booked a semi-final date against Taylor Fritz by seeing off home hope Cameron Norrie in straight sets.

Norrie proved no match for the two-time defending champion on Tuesday, as Alcaraz cruised to a 6-2 6-3 6-3 win.

Alcaraz is just the second active male player to reach at least three Wimbledon semi-finals, after Novak Djokovic, and Norrie never looked likely to block his path.

The Spaniard needed just one hour and 39 minutes to wrap up the victory, which he served out with a brutal effort that proved unreturnable.

Early breaks in the first two sets put Alcaraz, who saved all five of the break points he faced, well on his way, with the world number two swiftly taking control of the third.

Norrie fended off the first match point, but Alcaraz's progression was delayed only slightly, as his quest for a Wimbledon hat-trick rolls on.

Data Debrief: King Carlos looking imperious

It is now 23 successive wins and counting for Alcaraz, who has a good record against his next opponent, Fritz, having won both of their previous meetings.

Alcaraz is looking to become just the second man in the Open Era, after Bjorn Borg, to win both Roland-Garros and Wimbledon in consecutive seasons.

At the age of 22 years and 56 days, Alcaraz is the third-youngest man in the Open Era to reach three successive semi-finals at Wimbledon, older than only Borg (1976-1978) and Rafael Nadal (2006-2008).
