'Mission Raniganj' Vs 'Thank You For Coming' Box Office Day 3: Akshay Kumar Starrer Sees A Decent Growth, Bhumi Pednekar's Film Still Struggling

Akshay Kumar starrer 'Mission Raniganj' hit the theatres on October 6. The movie is based on the true life event of the late Jaswant Singh Gill. Akshay has played the titular character. He led India's first successful coal mine rescue mission in November 1989. It also stars Parineeti Chopra. The rescue thriller didn't have a great opening but on Saturday, it saw a huge jump of 69%. On Sunday, on day 3  it also had a decent growth at the box office.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk.com, 'Mission Raniganj' earned Rs 4.85 crore on Sunday as per early estimates. So, the total collection of the movie stands at Rs 12.15 crore in opening weekend. It had an overall occupancy of 18.20 percent on Sunday as per the report.

The rescue thriller also stars Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma and Virendra Saxena among others. 

The Tinu Suresh Desai directorial released with Bhumi Pednekar starrer sex comedy, 'Thank You For Coming'. It is still struggling at the box office as it showed little improvement on Sunday with a collection of around Rs 1.67 crore as per early estimates shared by Sacnilk.com. The total collection stands at Rs 4.29 crore.

The film is directed by Karan Boolani and backed by Rhea Kapoor along with Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Motion Pictures. The comedy-drama also stars Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh, Kusha Kapila, Karan Kundrra, Anil Kapoor and Shibani Bedi.
