Canada’s Charles Philibert-Thiboutot dived headfirst over the finish line to deliver his country’s first track gold of the Pan American Games 2023. Philibert-Thiboutot finished milliseconds above countryman Rob Heppenstall to complete a Canada 1-2 on the podium. Sarah Mitton gave Canada their second gold moments later by throwing the longest in the shot put event.
