World No. 3 Test batter Steve Smith brought up his 31st century in the longest format off the third delivery of the day in the final of the ICC World Test Championship in London on Thursday.
After remaining unbeaten on 95 overnight, Smith faced Mohammed Siraj and struck consecutive fours to bring up the milestone.
Indian bowlers were left frustrated in the final session on Day one, conceding 157 runs without getting any wickets, as Australia ended the day on 327-3.
His partnership of 262 runs with Travis Head, who was also unbeaten on 148*, is now the highest partnership at the Oval.

The body language of Indian bowlers, especially Siraj, looked negative coming into Day 2, as he even chucked a ball in the direction of Smith after the latter backed away during the bowler's run-up.
The second day is crucial for India to get back into the game in the hopes of securing their maiden ICC WTC title. India need to win, as even a draw will see Australia clinch the trophy due to a superior standing in the WTC table.
