Roberto Firmino is proud to have helped Al-Ahli achieve a slice of history as his departure from the Saudi Pro League club was confirmed.

Firmino has joined Al Sadd in Qatar, ending his stay at Al-Ahli two years after he joined from Liverpool.

The Brazilian has signed a two-year deal with Al Sadd, who won the Qatar Stars League last season.

During his time with Al-Ahli, Firmino scored 14 Pro League goals and provided a further nine assists, while creating 58 goalscoring opportunities for his team-mates.

He also helped Al-Ahli win the Asian Champions League Elite last season, scoring six times in 12 games.

"I'm happy because we made history at the club during these two years together," Firmino said in a farewell video.

"The best moment was to become the champions of Asia. I'm very grateful for this."

Firmino assisted both of Al-Ahli's goals in their 2-0 win over Kawasaki Frontale in the final of the Champions League Elite.

The 33-year-old became one of three players, alongside his team-mates Edouard Mendy and Riyad Mahrez, to win continental titles in both Europe and Asia.
