Meghan Markle spotted without engagement ring in Instagram post; divorce rumors take flight

Meghan Markle while celebrating her 42nd birthday with two friends was spotted with no engagement ring. As per one of Markle’s friend’s stories posted on Instagram which was later shared as a post by a Meghan Markle fan account, the Duchess of Sussex was not wearing her engagement ring. 

The account which goes by the name “Meghan Markle official” on Instagram posted a photo of Meghan Markle flanked by two of her girlfriends. The caption reads, "A new sweet photo of Meghan, shared by her hair stylist Mika Harris on the occasion of the Duchess's birthday, on the left of the photo writer Cleo Wade."

It didn’t take long for netizens to start posting comments and circulating rumors about a potential divorce. One user wrote, "I wonder what has happened to the engagement ring?" 

Another user’s comment reads, "Not everyone wears their engagement rings in everyday life. I know I don't." And, there were also supporting comments such as, "She looks so well. Perhaps her ring was sent for resizing." 

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle and the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry are currently spending time apart. The couple is on a "trial separation" following months of fighting. This is reportedly due to the fact that Spotify executive Bill Simmons revealed that Ms Markle's podcast Archetypes with Meghan will not be granted a second series on the global audio platform. The couple's "trial separation" might be the reason people are speculating about their divorce amid several other celebrity divorces.

Although, this is not the first time Meghan Markle shed her engagement ring. According to People magazine, in order to appear more “low key during meet and greet”, the Duchess of Sussex did not wear the ring for the couple’s tour of South Africa in September 2019.  In another instance, Ms. Markle was spotted without her engagement ring during her pregnancy because of body swelling.

Meghan Markle’s engagement ring is beyond unique. As per People magazine, Ms Markle’s engagement ring is a three-stone ring featuring a large cushion-cut center diamond and two side stones from none other than Princess Diana’s jewelry collection.
