Ranbir Kapoor, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ To Finally Release On Netflix This Republic Day

The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri in key roles.

The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer action drama 'Animal', helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is now all set to stream digitally from Republic Day. Bringing in the long weekend, streaming platform Netflix is launching the blockbuster film ‘Animal’ for audiences around the world on 26 January 2024. And in addition to Hindi, ‘Animal’ will also be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, on Netflix.

Talking about the Netflix release of the film, Ranbir Kapoor issued a statement, which read as, “We are absolutely overjoyed by the response 'Animal' received in theatres and now I am glad that audiences worldwide will get a chance to watch it in the comfort of their homes. The opportunity to showcase our work globally is truly special!”.

The film stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri in key roles apart from Ranbir. Anil Kapoor plays Ranbir’s father - Balbir Singh, Bobby Deol was seen in a pivotal role of Abrar Haque while Rashmika Mandanna plays Ranbir’s wife Geetanjali. Triptii Dimri portrays the character of Zoya. ‘Animal’ also features Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Suresh Oberoi and among others.

The action drama explores the intricacies of modern-day relationships, and revolves around dynamics between a father and son. Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Pranay Reddy Vanga, the film had hit the theatres on December 1, 2023.

Meanwhile, for those caught unaware, Cine1 Studios has approached the Delhi High Court recently seeking a stay on the release of ‘Animal’ on Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms. The studio, a key producer of the movie, alleged that Super Cassettes Industries Private Ltd (T-Series) breached their agreement, and denied Cine1 its rightful profit share and intellectual property rights.

Post that, the Delhi High Court, on January 18, issued summons to the defendants in response to a suit filed by Cine1 Studios Private Ltd, and granted them time to submit a written statement. The case is now scheduled before the Joint Registrar on March 15.

Amid the case, Netflix has announced that ‘Animal’ is coming on Netflix on 26 January.
