Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Animal' is all set to release on OTT with an extended cut as per the latest reports. The film will release on the OTT giant Netflix on the occasion of Republic Day, i.e. on January 26. Well, as per reports, the OTT version of 'Animal' will be a few minutes longer than the theatrical release.

The original running time of 'Animal' was 3 hours and 21 minutes, and now it will have an additional 8 minutes, and the total runtime will be 3 hours and 29 minutes. Reports also stated that the extended version of the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial will have an additional scene of lead actress Rashmika Mandanna.

Not to miss, earlier, in an interview with trade analyst, Komal Nahta, on the OTT release of 'Animal', Vanga had said, “I was editing the version because there were some problems in 1-2 shots. I’m using different and a few more shots from the same take. One thing I felt was I should have left the 3 hours 30 minutes instead of 3 hours 21 minutes. I don’t know why I edited those 8-9 minutes. Now, I will be using those 5-6 minutes extra''.

Recently, the film landed into yet another controversy as Cine 1 Studios, the co-producer of ‘Animal’, approached the Delhi High Court and sought a stay on the release of the film on OTT.  The production house has alleged that there was a breach of the agreement and also claimed that they haven't received payment. As per a report in PTI, Cine 1 Studios had filed a complaint against T-Series.

'Animal' was slammed for the portrayal of violence and misogyny. However, the film emerged as one of the major Indian blockbusters of 2023. It is currently, the third-highest-earning film at the box office with a total collection of Rs 915 crore globally.

The film also starred Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri in pivotal roles.
