The International Emmy Awards 2023 was held in New York City on November 21 (IST). It was a big day for India as Ektaa Kapoor and Vir Das scored big. Shefali Shah and Jim Sarbh who contended couldn't make it for their respective categories.
Vir Das won an Emmy for his Netflix comedy special 'Vir Das: Landing'. While Ektaa Kapoor received the International Emmy Directorate Award. Vir shared the award with 'Derry Girls Season 3'. Shefali Shah, who was nominated for the Best Actress category, lost the Emmy to Karla Souza for 'La Cada (Dive). Jim Sarbh, who was nominated for 'Rocket Boys' lost to British actor Martin Freeman.
