Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor are all set to play a father-son duo in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’. Now during a recent press conference in Hyderabad, Anil mentioned how he kept thinking about his late father, and his son while filming ‘Animal’.

“This film has made me think about my father a lot, and my relationship with my son,” he said. For those caught unaware, Anil’s father Surinder Kapoor was a film producer and his son Harshvardhan Kapoor is a Bollywood actor.

He also revealed how both him and Ranbir “used our real-life experiences” during the filming process and stated how it was a great choice on Sandeep’s part to cast them as father and son. “I knew Ranbir’s dad very closely and we have been very close family friends for more than 60 years now. He is a part of the family,” Anil said. He added that it is “not just because they are Kapoors,” but otherwise too, the two actors also share a resemblance that works for their characters.

“Casting is a very crucial part of a film,” the actor mentioned, as he complimented the way Sandeep Reddy Vanga cast ‘Animal’. Not just that, he mentioned how it has been a “masterstroke” to cast Bobby Deol in the role of an antagonist.

For those caught unaware, Suresh Oberoi, Shakti Kapoor and Prem Chopra are all part of the film and Anil pointed out how they all have been around for years but the “ageist kind of society” that exists around them does not honour their talents. He added how these actors have given a “freshness” to the film.

Also starring Rashmika Mandanna, the film is all set to release in theatres on December 1.
