Akarsh Khurana's unbounded talent has left a deep impression on the entertainment industry with web shows like 'TVF Tripling' and 'Mismatched', films like 'Karwaan' and 'Rashmi Rocket’ and a prolific theatre company, Akvarious Productions. In his Zee Theatre teleplays as well, most notably 'Gunehgaar', 'The Job' and ‘Some Times', Akarsh Khurana has displayed his ease with suspense, comedy and also various shades of the human experience.

‘Gunehgaar’

The psychological, suspense thriller revolves around three protagonists and the story begins when a mysterious man, Mr Bansal invites Mrinalini, a famous journalist over to his flat on the pretext of offering her a scoop. Then, Om, a cop arrives and it becomes increasingly clear that there is a thread that connects the pasts of these three characters. The plot continues to unravel and culminates in a shocking twist that takes everyone by surprise. The teleplay stars Gajraj Rao (Bansal), Shweta Basu Prasad (Mrinalini) and Sumeet Vyas (Om).

‘Some Times’

This play with large helpings of irony and humour lays bare the dilemmas and conflicts of urban existence. The protagonist is Paramjit Singh Duggal aka Pammi who is caught between the crushing expectations of his family, professional stress and romantic conflicts. Like many of his peers, he likes to lose himself in a weed and whiskey-fueled nightlife but can he answer the existential questions staring him in the face? This thought-provoking comedy stars Adhaar Khurana, Kashin Shetty, Shikha Talsania, Sarang Sathaye, Karan Pandit, Dilshad Edibam Khurana, Shruti Vyas, Hussain Dalal and Amey Wagh.

‘The Job’

'The Job' is a comic take on a toxic, power-driven hierarchical corporate space where boundaries are not respected and employees experience excessive stress. The play makes a statement about how unhealthy workspaces can be via an introductory choreographed musical sequence, sharp writing and nuanced performances. The story begins when a young, naive candidate turns up for a job interview only to be shocked by the unusual tenor of the question-and-answer session. The play stars Karan Pandit, Kashin Shetty, Tariq Vasudeva and Shweta Tripathi.
