With nearly 15 seasons broadcast, Grey's Anatomy, the wildly popular television series created by Shonda Rhimes, is the longest-running medical drama in television history. The titular Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and a number of other notable characters joined the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital as interns at the beginning of the series, which later explored their development as humans and medical professionals.
