Iga Swiatek is through to her first semi-final at Wimbledon after a straight-sets victory over Liudmila Samsonova on Wednesday.

She took one hour and 49 minutes to get past Samsonova 6-2 7-5 and has now reached the final four at all three grand slams this year.

Swiatek fended off a break point in the first game and never wavered in her control of the first set despite Samsonova matching her through the first four games.

The eighth seed got two consecutive breaks to take the lead and stretched her winning streak to seven games at the start of the second set as she raced 3-0 up, fending off four break points in the process.

However, Samsonova forced her way back into the set, with back-to-back breaks of her own as she drew level at 4-4.

The Russian could not hold on to force a tie-break, though, as Swiatek earned her fifth break of the quarter-final, converting on her second match point.

She will face either Mirra Andreeva or Belinda Bencic in Thursday's semi-final.

Data Debrief: Breaking new ground

Swiatek is enjoying the most successful grass-court swing of her career so far, having reached her first final on the surface prior to Wimbledon before making the final four for the first time.

She is the fourth current player to make the women's singles semi-finals at each of the four majors, after Victoria Azarenka, Karolina Pliskova and Aryna Sabalenka - she is the first Polish player in the Open Era to achieve the feat.

Swiatek is also the first player to claim 40+ WTA-level wins for four or more consecutive seasons (2022-2025) since Pliskova (six in a row between 2014 and 2019).

And, the Pole is the player with the highest percentage of first serve points won in women's singles at Wimbledon in 2025 (77.4%) - minimum of two matches played.
