The Phoenix Suns have locked up the face of their franchise.
Devin Booker agreed to a two-year, $145million max contract extension with the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
Booker has three seasons remaining on a four-year, $224 supermax extension he agreed to in 2022, and the new deal keeps him under contract with the Suns through the 2029-30 season.
At $72.5million, Booker's average annual salary surpasses the $71.25million of NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder for the highest annual extension salary in league history.
A four-time All-Star, Booker is entering his 11th season with the Suns since the franchise selected him 13th overall in the 2015 draft.
The 28-year-old is the franchise's all-time leading scorer with 16,452 points and 3-pointers made with 1,424. He holds the Suns all-time record for points in a game with 70, and has six of the 10 highest-scoring games in franchise history.
In 75 games last season, Booker averaged 25.6 points, a career-high 7.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds, but the Suns limped to a 36-46 record and missed the play-offs for the first time since 2019-20.
The Suns enter the 2025-26 season in a bit of a transition after trading away Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets and with Bradley Beal likely being bought out.
