Just last week, the International Cricket Council (ICC) released a promotional video that featured none other than the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

The video was related to the upcoming Cricket World Cup that will start in October later this year in India. The video was a massive hit on Twitter and other social media space as it featured the Bollywood hearthrob in it. However, despite the world gushing over the promotional video, Pakistan's Shoaib Akhtar wasn't pleased with it as he bashed the ICC for ignoring Pakistan skipper Babar Azam in the video.

In his tweet, he lashed out at the ICC. “Whoever thought that World Cup promo will be complete without Pakistan & Babar Azam's significant presence, has actually presented himself as a joke. Come on guys, time to grow up a bit,” tweeted Akhtar.

The two-minute and thirteen seconds video features fans from other cricketing nations and current crop of cricketers featuring the likes of Jemimah Rodrigues, Dinesh Karthik and Shubman Gill. There are also cameo appearances from the likes of 2019 World Cup winner with England, Eoin Morgan, Jonty Rhodes of South Africa and Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan with Shah Rukh Khan voicing the video.

However, the video does not feature Babar in it and perhaps angered the former Pakistani pacer despite the appearances of Wahab Riaz and Shaheen Shah Afridi. The video does not feature Pakistan skipper Babar nor was the nation's 1992 World Cup win was included in the video.

The 50-over World Cup will start from October 5 between New Zealand and England at Ahmedabad. However, all eyes will be on the iconic India vs Pakistan clash on October 15. Since 2011, every home nation has won the World Cup on it's own turf and it remains to be seen whether Rohit Sharma's men repeat the heroics of 2011 under MS Dhoni.
