Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar was seen having a fun banter with fellow commentator Cheteshwar Pujara during the ongoing IND vs ENG Test series in England. Pujara funnily asked Gavaskar to sign him up for the latter's pickleball team.
It all came during a conversation on the Sony Sports Network wherein Gavaskar had stated that he owns a stake in a pickleball team. Gavaskar co-owns the Dilli Dillwale franchise of the World Pickleball League (WPL) alongside his son Rohan Gavaskar.
"Can you hire me in one of your team?" Cheteshwar Pujara asked as Gavaskar made the revelation.
"Anytime. You make up your mind. Yesterday you were signed by Manchester United. Now you want to be signed by our team. We'll give you a contract. Don't worry. If Manchester United can give him a contract, then even I can give him one," Gavaskar replied.
Pujara had recently visited the Manchester United football club and their stadium, Old Trafford. The Indian team had also paid a visit to the club's training facility ahead of the fourth Test and were pictured alongside the likes of Ruben Amorim, Bruno Fernandes amongst others.
Speaking of the series, India drew the fourth Test against England at Manchester and trail the series 1-2 with the decider to be played at The Oval starting from Thursday, Jul 31.
