Indian cricketer Rinku Singh got engaged to Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament Priya Saroj on Sunday. The ceremony took place in Lucknow. Multiple photos and videos have gone viral all over the Internet of the couple's engagement.
The event was attended by some of the biggest names across politics and cricket. Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and the BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla could be seen in the photos and videos of the ceremony.
Toofani Saroj, the father of Priya and also an MLA, had earlier said that the couple had decided to go ahead with their marriage after talking to their parents.
"Both the children have expressed their desire to get married and have sought our permission for the same. The engagement has not taken place yet. Initial talks have taken place in this regard," Tufani Saroj had told ANI.
Rinku and Priya willl get married November 18 this year in what will be a traditional affair at the Hotel Taj in Varanasi.
The 27-year-old Rinku is an India international player and a permanent fixture in the Indian T20I side while Priya, 26, is a first time MP from Jaunpur's Machhlishahr constituency.

Rinku has played 33 T20Is and has scored 546 runs at an average of 42 and a strike rate of 161. He has played two ODIs for India. in IPL, Rinku is a constant feature in the Kolkata Knight Riders middle order and won the title with the team last year.
