Asia Cup 2025 - Teams
The 17th edition of the ACC Asia Cup men's cricket tournament is here, and fans across the continent are buzzing with excitement. This year's tournament, being hosted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28, features eight teams battling in the T20 format, a strategic build-up to the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. With squads now announced, the spotlight is on the Asia Cup 2025 players list, which features a blend of seasoned stars and emerging talent.
Leading the charge is the Indian national cricket team -- the defending champions -- captained by Suryakumar Yadav, with Shubman Gill as vice-captain. Pakistan have opted for a youthful squad under Salman Ali Agha, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan bring depth and flair to the competition. Most teams are yet to finalise their respective best lineups, though. The Charith Asalanka-led Sri Lanka are expected to rely on their trusted veterans. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket team, led by Litton Das, is packed with explosive hitters and crafty bowlers.
The Asia Cup 2025 teams are divided into two groups, with India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman in Group A, and Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong in Group B. Each team will play three group matches before the top two from each group advance to the Super Four stage, then the final between the two best outfits.
