Telangana Assembly Polls: 100 Candidates File Nomination Papers On First Day Including PCC President A Revanth Reddy

The Telangana Assembly elections are scheduled for November 30 and the submissions for nomination started on November 3. Top leaders including Telangana PCC president A Revanth Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao have filed their nominations on the first day as well.

A total of 100 candidates filed their nomination papers on the first day of nomination on November 3 for the upcoming assembly polls in Telangana.

Telangana PCC president A Revanth Reddy (Kodangal) and Tummala Nageswara Rao (Khammam) were among those who filed nominations on Friday.

Election Commission of India issued notification for Telangana Assembly polls to be held on November 30, which was published in Telangana Gazette.

According to the notification, the nomination filing process for the poll began and they would be accepted from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm on working days till November 10.

The nominations would be scrutinized on November 13 and November 15 is the last date for withdrawal of candidatures, according to the schedule of election.

Polling would be held on November 30 and counting of votes would be taken up on December 3

Polling would begin at 5 am and end at 5 pm, barring some places where it ends at 4 pm.

Only three vehicles are allowed in the candidate's convoy within the periphery of 100 meters to the Returning Officer’s office at the time of filing nomination, while only five people including the contesting candidate are allowed inside RO’s room.

Along with nomination, the candidate has to file an affidavit in Form-26 declaring information about his or her criminal antecedents, assets, liabilities and educational qualifications.
