President Droupadi Murmu will lead the nation in celebrating Republic Day from Kartavya Path. 

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is the Chief Guest this year.

The massive security arrangements have been made for the gala Republic Day parade along Kartavyapath, with CCTV’s and 6,000 security personnel to guard the event.

This Republic Day Egyptian Armed Forces contingent will also be a  part of the parade. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already termed the occasion special as Republic Day this time  is being celebrated during the ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ of the country's independence. 

The tableaux from 17 states and Union Territories and six ministeries and departments will be presented this Republic Day to showcase ‘New India’.

Besides, art and culture performances will be presented by nearly 500 artists. The artists have been selected through ‘Vande Bharat’ nationwide competition. 

This year, invites have been sent to people involved in the construction of the Central Vista, Kartavya Path, New Parliament Building, milk, vegetable vendors and street vendors, who will be given a prominent spot in the galleries.

The Republic Day celebrations, which started with the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on January 23, will end with the traditional ‘Beating the Retreat’ ceremony on January 29. 

The country's biggest drone show, comprising 3,500 indigenous drones, will light up the sky over the Raisina hills during the performance.
