In a heartwarming gesture, a 74-year-old farmer named Bhagirath Sharma from Kharsi Chowk area in India donated three acres of his fertile land worth Rs 20 lakh to the revenue department for the construction of a 'Patwar Ghar,' which is an accounts office.

The generous donation took place two days ago, benefiting approximately 4,000 people residing in 12 revenue villages, including Sai Kharsi, Dikthali Badnu, and Sui Surhar panchayats.

Prior to this donation, the Patwar Ghar operated from a single room since 2021. The new office will significantly enhance the capacity to serve the community and handle administrative tasks efficiently.

Bhagirath Sharma, who comes from a modest background and supports his family through farming, has four married daughters and two sons, one of whom works at a petrol pump while the other is a taxi driver.

Block Development Office member Atmadev Sharma of Sai Kharsi confirmed that all the necessary formalities for the land transfer have been completed, and there have been no demands from Bhagirath Sharma and his family.

This act of selflessness by Bhagirath Sharma sets a remarkable example, especially during a time when disputes over land often strain relationships.
