Delhi School Murder: A Scuffle Over A Wristband Led To The Murder, Says Police Report

An investigation into the murder of class-9 student Tushar in West Delhi school has revealed that the 16-year-old and his classmates had a tussle over a 'wristband'.

“Tushar had given a wristband to one of the accused a few days ago. Since then, he had been asking him to return it. Despite several reminders, his classmate did not listen. On the day of the incident, he again reminded the boy, which led to an argument in the classroom,” Hindustan Times quoted an officer as saying.

Tusshar (16) was found unconscious by some students in his school bathroom and was taken to a hospital on February 1. He was later referred to the GTB Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

According to the police, the CCTV footage revealed that the victim had a fight with his classmates near the school washroom. "The footage also revealed that some students went after him in the washroom," police quoted as saying.

By Saturday, the police had arrested three of the four accused.

The reports added that the three accused classmates allegedly punched the victim in his neck and face. "It was suspected that the student died of internal injuries sustained during the scuffle," police said.
