Iga Swiatek laid down a marker as she thrashed Belinda Bencic to reach her maiden Wimbledon final.

Bencic, featuring in just her second grand slam semi-final, could not cope with a sensational Swiatek display in the heat on Centre Court on Thursday.

Swiatek triumphed 6-2 6-0 in just over 80 minutes to tee up a showdown with Amanda Anisimova, who beat top seed Aryna Sabalenka in the other semi-final.

The five-time grand slam champion, who has not won a title since triumphing at Roland-Garros in 2024, was on top form from the off.

Swiatek pinned Bencic back off both wings, unleashing powerful forehands and reeling off some brutal backhand winners.

It was a winner off her backhand that got the job done, as Swiatek completed a 34-minute bagel in the second set.

Bencic never looked capable of matching the Pole, who is into her sixth grand slam final.

Data Debrief: Swiatek soars

Swiatek's fall away from the top of the rankings meant she went into Wimbledon as a somewhat under-the-radar contender, but she has offered up a fantastic reminder of her superstar quality.

Only Billie Jean King (vs Rosie Casals in 1969) and Venus Williams (vs Dinara Safina in 2009) - one each - have dropped fewer games than Swiatek (two) in a women's singles semi-final at the Championships in the Open Era.

Swiatek also now holds the 10th highest winning percentage in grand slam events in the Open Era (83.2%, 99-20) among women, having surpassed Evonne Goolagong.

The 24-year-old is the youngest woman to reach a grand slam final on all three surfaces since Justine Henin in 2003, while she is the only active player on the WTA Tour to do so.

Among those achieving the feat in the 21st century, meanwhile, only three women have reached a grand slam final on all three surfaces in fewer main-draw appearances than Swiatek (26).
