But on Wednesday, in Pune, they were dismissed for 167 to suffer a 190-run defeat against South Africa, meaning the Kiwis are now out of the top four. The Kiwis won the toss and opted to field first. But Tom Latham's decision backfired as South Africa posted yet another 350-plus total with Quinton de Kock (114 off 116) and Rassie van der Dussen (133 off 118) stitching a 200-run stand for the second wicket. Chasing a mammoth total of 357/7, the Kiwis hardly tested the Proteas bowlers.
