Inter's Simone Inzaghi and Hakan Calhanoglu have also been handed one-match bans, the Italian soccer association (FIGC) confirmed on Thursday.

An investigation into the relationships between Inter, Milan, their players, coaches, executives and certain supporters started in November after the arrests of several ultras.

The sanctions were imposed because of relations with unauthorised fan groups such as Inter's "Curva Nord" and Milan's "Curva Sud", the FIGC said in their ruling.

The punishments mean that Serie A leaders Inter will be without Calhanoglu and Simeone for their upcoming clash against Hellas Verona this Saturday.

As well as his one-match ban, Calhanoglu must pay a €30,000 fine, while Inzaghi was fined €15,000.

In addition to the bans and fines given to Inzaghi and Calhanoglu, Inter have also been fined €70,000 and Milan have been ordered to pay a €30,000 penalty fee.

Additionally, Inter vice-President Javier Zannetti will also have to pay a €14,500 fine.
