Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won their maiden Indian Premier League title on 3 June under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar, defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The IPL 2025 final win ended their 18-year title wait, sparking euphoric celebrations on the streets of Bengaluru.

The Karnataka capital celebrated late into Tuesday night after Virat Kohli’s 43-run knock helped RCB seal a nail-biting win over Shreyas Iyer’s PBKS side. The entire city turned red as fireworks lit up the night sky, with fans flooding the streets and cheering for ‘RCB and Kohli’.

Social media users shared videos that showed the magnificent fireworks all across Bengaluru, as well as fans on the streets cheering for their victorious team, despite the cold weather in the city.

One hilarious video showed a lorry driver, surrounded by RCB fans, blowing his horn to show his approval of the celebrations. Fans across the city rode bikes and cars, waving the RCB flags.

Support Overflows For RCB After IPL Title Win

Other than their big fanbase, termed the ‘12th Man Army’, RCB also had the support of some of the biggest names from sports, cinema, and politics cheering them on during and after the match.

Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was in attendance at Ahmedabad, cheering on every boundary and wicket in favour of Virat Kohli’s team. Former RCB captain Anil Kumble praised the team, calling it a “well-deserved title after a long wait.”

Among the political leaders, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar lauded the team’s passion and perseverance, adding, “You’ve made every Kannadiga’s dream come true.” Congress member Shashi Tharoor congratulated Virat Kohli for getting his first-ever title in his 18th IPL season.

Film stars, too, joined in on the act, with Tollywood actor Allu Arjun sharing a video of his son, Allu Ayaan, getting visibly emotional while celebrating RCB’s win, even pouring water over his head amid the jubilation.

Other actors such as Aamir Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Ranvir Singh, Vijay Devarakonda, and Rashmika Mandanna are cheering for the Red and Gold side.

The fan celebrations are expected to continue during RCB’s IPL 2025 victory parade in Bengaluru, which will kick off at 3:30 PM IST on 4 June.
