Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a joint session of the US Congress on June 22 during his state visit to the United States.
In a statement, the four leaderse of both the chambers of Congress, the Senate and House of Representatives, invited Modi to address the joint session.
"This will be an opportunity to celebrate the enduring friendship between the United States and India and speak to the global challenges our countries both face," said US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
The invitation to Modi shared by McCarthy carried signatures of the four Congressional leaders: House Speaker McCarthy, House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer, and Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell.

The bipartisan invitation said they "would be honoured to have you join us for a Joint Meeting of Congress to celebrate the enduring freindship between the United States and India".
"We look forward to continuing to work together to build a brighter future for our countries and for the world," said the letter.
This will be the second time that Modi will be addressing a joint meeting of the US Congress. Modi had earlier addressed the Congress in 2016.
President Joe Biden will host Modi for an Official state visit to the United States, which will include a state dinner, on June 22.
