PM Narendra Modi is taking stock of the plane crash

Maharashtra deputy CM and finance minister Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash on Wednesday, January 28. All five passengers on board died in a tragic plane crash, according to the DGCA.
Pawar was travelling to Baramati ahead of Zilla Parishad elections. He planned to address a public meeting in Baramati. A private plane carrying Pawar and others crashed during landing in Baramati around 9.15 am today. The Pawar family, party activists, leaders are mourning his shocking death.
Ajit Pawar was the longest serving deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, carried the title five times. He also worked as finance minister both in MVA and Mahayuti government.
CM Devendra Fadnavis cancelled all his programs, business for the day after learning the tragic plane crash. Leaders across the parties are expressing grief and shock after Pawar's untimely and tragic demise.
"Shri Ajit Pawarji was a leader of the people, having a strong grassroots level connect. He was widely respected as a hardworking personality at the forefront of serving the people of Maharashtra. His understanding of administrative matters and passion for empowering the poor and downtrodden were also noteworthy. His untimely demise is very shocking and saddening. Condolences to his family and countless admirers." said prime minister Narendra Modi on X.
