Chhattisgarh: Unidentified Naxalites Kill BJP Leader Ahead Of November 7 Assembly Poll

Acording to police, BJP leader Ratan Dubey, who was the BJP's district president in Narayanapur, was killed while he was campaigning for the party in Kaushalnar village. He was reportedly was attacked and killed with a sharp weapon by the unidentified Naxalites.

In an untoward incident, right ahed of the scheduled assembly polls on November 7, Chhattisgarh BJP leader Ratan Dubey was hacked to death by unidentified Naxalites in the Narayanpur district on Saturday, the police said. 

About the incident

Acording to police, BJP leader Dubey, who was the BJP's district president in Narayanapur, was killed while he was campaigning for the party in Kaushalnar village. He was reportedly was attacked and killed with a sharp weapon by the unidentified Naxalites.

A police team had rushed to the spot and efforts to nab those involved are underway.

Reacting to the incident, BJP leader Om Mathur in a message on X said, "I am deeply saddened by the brutal murder of Chhattisgarh BJP's Narayanpur Assembly convenor and Narayanpur district vice president Ratan Dubey ji by Naxalites during the campaign. The entire party condemns this cowardly incident."

Narayanpur is among the 20 Assembly seats on which polls will be held on November 7.

The second phase of polls to the 90-member House will take place on November 17, while votes will be counted on December 3
