Inconsistent batting has once again hurt Punjab Kings as they slumped to a 20-run defeat against Lucknow Super Giants at the MCA Stadium in Pune in an IPL 2022 tie on Friday. After Kagiso Rabada (4/38) wreaked havoc in the middle overs and restricted LSG to 153/8, lack of partnerships from the batters cost them in the chase. Captain Mayank Agarwal got PBKS to a good start but once he was dismissed for 25, no one got going despite getting starts. Shikhar Dhawan was out cheaply while Liam Livingstone threw away his wicket. Bhanuka Rajapaksha too didn’t frighten the bowlers much while Jonny Bairstow could only manage 32. Krunal Pandya and Dusmantha Chammera and Mohsin Khan bowled perfect lengths along with wickets to ensure LSG stay in the game all throughout.
