The Indian Premier League 2024, a 65-day cricketing carnival, will conclude on May 26 with a Chennai finale. Having started on March 22 with a clash between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Chepauk, the 17th edition of the world's premier T20 cricket league has already seen fascinating contests and produced engrossing individual rivalries.

IPL, as they say, is truly a gift that never stops giving. Every season, the world's numero uno T20 cricket league gets a window of a couple of months. But the IPL action happens all year round -- from hunting talent to assembling a team, then the actual play. All their efforts are reflected in the final standings. After the league stage, comprising 70 matches played at 13 stadiums across India, the two top teams will play in Qualifier 1 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, with the winners getting a direct ticket to the final. That's not the end of the road for the losers, though. They will take on the winners of the Eliminator between the third and fourth-placed teams in Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad.

The Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders were the first team to qualify for the play-offs in IPL 2024, while Hardik Pandya's Mumbai Indians were the first to crash out of reckoning.
