Sorry for the wait, Apple may delay the shipments of iPhone 15 Pro Max

As per the reports, the delay is being caused by the image sensor, which is still not ready. Sony, Apple's primary supplier of camera components, might not be able to supply the primary sensor for the iPhone 15 Pro Max

The anticipation among people is building as the launch of new iPhone models nears. Usually, tech giant Apple introduces its new iPhones in the month of September; however, recent rumors have suggested that users might have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on the new iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Why the delay for the iPhone 15 Pro Max?

According to reports, the image sensor is still not ready, causing the delay. A report by 9to5Mac suggests that Sony, Apple's main camera parts supplier, may not be able to provide the main sensor for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The report cites a note from a major equity analyst.

The iPhone Pro Max is expected to come equipped with a periscope camera to enhance the camera quality and provide greater optical zoom. The introduction of a periscope camera is one of the most significant upgrades in the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max model. Meanwhile, other models of the iPhone 15 are not expected to receive substantial upgrades.

When will the 15 Pro Max models be available in the market?

It is expected that the tech giant Apple will announce its iPhone 15 series on September 13, 2023. Furthermore, consumers will be able to pre-book their iPhones starting from September 15, 2023. Subsequently, the delivery of these iPhones will commence seven days later. However, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is projected to experience a delay of three to four weeks. As a result, the Pro Max models will be delivered between October 6 and October 13.

This is not the first time that Apple has delayed the delivery of iPhones. Previously, the iPhone XR also arrived later than the XS series due to delayed shipments of components to Pegatron, one of Apple's manufacturing partners.

Apart from this, it is anticipated that this time the iPhone 15 will come with major upgrades. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the A17 Bionic chip, and feature a new 48-megapixel main sensor, a periscope lens, and other enhancements. iPhone 15 A17 Bionic chip is expected to be faster and much more efficient than the A16 Bionic chip.
The smartphone is expected to support faster charging than the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Also, iPhone 15 is expected to come with widely-used USB-C color-coordinated cables.
