'The Night Manager Part 2' released on the OTT giant Disney+Hotstar on June 29. The second part has more twists and turns and the characters bring more to the table. Well, much before the release of part two, there has been a buzz that Tillotama Shome's character Lipika Saikia who is a RAW officer has a face-off scene with Anil Kapoor's character Shailendra Rungta aka Shelly who deals in illegal arms business.

In one of the episodes, we see Lipika sitting right across Shelly and it wouldn't be wrong to say that it is one of the best scenes of the entire series.

Ahead of the release of 'The Night Manager Part 2', Garima Das of Outlook had a conversation with Tillotama where she spoke about working with AK. Shome was all praise for the actor.

While talking about the face-off scene with Kapoor, she said, "Lipika's character has waited for years to have a face-off with this man she has been obsessed with. She has been waiting for that moment for years and I as Tillotama an actor had to wait for 20 years to be in this place where I got an opportunity to work with someone who has been entertaining us for decades and has reinvented himself again and again every decade to be relevant. Really hats off to his staying power, his curiosity, and his ability to keep on pivoting".

The actress further said, "It feels like poetic justice you know that after 20 years of doing independent cinema, I got to do this big mainstream show and got an opportunity to work with a man who has entertained us for decades."

For the unversed, Tillotama's character in Part 1 was called 'irritating' by a section of the audience. On this, she commented, "It's okay. There are many good comments also. I think it's important and I am also aware of the fact that an intelligent woman who wants to get her way can be irritating for many people. If someone said they found my character irritating, I will take it in that vein but it's also nice when someone expresses they didn't like your performance. It's also something to think about. I think getting praised can become an echo chamber after some time and you don't also learn much from it."

Created and directed by Sandeep Modi, 'The Night Manager' also stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Saswata Chatterjee, and Ravi Behl among others in pivotal roles.
