During the teaser launch of his upcoming film Bholaa, Ajay Devgn talked about Pathaan. "Let's keep our fingers crossed. I want every film to be super duper hit. Now Pathaan is releasing and whatever reports we are reading about the advance booking seems fantastic, it has never happened before. I am very happy about it from the bottom of my heart. So I tell everyone I think we should be very very happy about this," he had said.

He also said, "After the film (Drishyam 2), became superhit I would say, we need more three-four superhit films. Because after the pandemic things have slowed down. We need to inculcate that habit among people to come to theatres to watch a film." Ajay's last film, the thriller-drama Drishyam 2 emerged as one of the biggest Hindi blockbusters of 2022 with earnings of over ₹280 crore worldwide.

Bholaa, directed by Ajay Devgn, is an official Hindi remake of the 2019 Tamil hit Kaithi. The original film revolved around an ex-convict who decides to meet his daughter for the first time after being released from prison but gets caught in a face-off between police and the drug mafia.

The film also features Tabu, Sanjay Mishra, Deepak Dobriyal, Raai Lakshmi, and Makrand Deshpande in prominent roles. It is all set to hit the theatres on March 30. Bholaa marks Ajay's fourth directorial film after U, Me Aur Hum in 2008, Shivaay in 2016, and Runway 34 in 2022.

Shah Rukh's next film Pathaan, a Yash Raj Films project, is directed by Siddharth Anand. The film also stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana. Industry experts are confident that the film will open somewhere between ₹45 to 50 crore at the box office.
