Actress Rajshri Deshpande gained popularity from her role as Subhadra in 'Sacred Games'. She played Gaitonde's (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) wife in the web series. Post the release of the series, Rajshari received criticism for doing intimate scenes and many even labelled her as a 'porn actor'.
In an interview with Zoom, Rajshri Deshpande said that her intimate scenes from 'Sacred Games' not only went viral but were also morphed and misused. Rajshri shared, “After Sacred Games season one, the scene went viral and it got morphed, it got into another kind of film everywhere. Social media posts were written about me''.
The 'Trial By Fire' actress also said the scene also involved Nawazuddin, director Anurag Kashyap, the editor and DOP, but nobody questioned them whereas she was questioned about her choices. She said, “Nobody said that Nawaz was also a part of it, nobody asked Anurag why did you shoot it, nobody asked the editor why did you cut it. The only person who was asked, ‘Why did you do it?’ was me. If a journalist is writing, ‘a porn actor’…. today my whole identity is just Sacred Games actor. Even Trial By Fire hasn’t reached the way Sacred Games has''.

However, she doesn’t want to “cry” over what has happened but she wants a “discussion” on the issue. She added, “Somethings need to change''.
Earlier, in an interview with Indian Express, she had said, “I’m glad that I got to play Subhadra as she is a very important part in Gaitonde’s life. What I’ve portrayed is consensual love. Unfortunately, our society doesn’t want to discuss this. We don’t talk about menstruation, forget sex.”
